There was a Christmas stocking full of breaks in the ODBSA snooker league’s run-up to Christmas, with four breaks over 40 and four half-centuries in December alone. Karl Walker (Oracle) found some tinsellating form with 56, 41 and 59, Terry Clayton (Oracle) showed his baubles with a 43, and Nigel Barker (Oracle) hit a 57 in stuffing Steve Benwell (Woodstock). Meanwhile, Darren Davis (Woodstock) pulled a Christmas-cracker 52, John Donkin (Oracle) was different gravy with a 40, and Lewis Moss (Oracle) was no pudding with a fiery 41.
At the Christmas break, with about two-thirds of the season now completed, three Oracle teams are pigs-in-blankets in pride of place at the head of each division: Oracle (Walker) in the Premier, Oracle (Clayton) in Division 1, and Oracle (Trafford) in Division 2. Current Brussels sprouts in need of some New Year resolutions are Woodstock (Benwell), Thame (Posey) and Eynsham (Ayres).
