The status quo was maintained in Division Five with all three matches ending in draws. Leader’s Witney E were held by bottom placed Eynsham C. Bob Cyphors got the better of Mick Lyne 65-25, 45-13 to put Witney 2-0 up, but Simon Harbour drew Eynsham level after two very close and hard fought frames against Paul Keenlyside. Harbour winning 51-46, 49-45. Witney were back in front after a break of 24 enabled Andy Keeler to beat Jason Stubbs 59-30 in the fifth frame, but Stubbs replied to win the final frame 51-23.

Third placed New Club B had to settle for a draw against struggling Cowley Con D. Cowley’s Anthony Turner made a break of 21 during his 70-13, 49-19 win against Luke Purcell, but the lead was short lived and New Club levelled the match through Paul Moss who beat Doug Turner 55-4, 76-30, Moss making a break of 22 in each frame. New Club then edged ahead when Simon Marriott beat Simon Painter 49-26 in frame five, but Painter came back to take the final frame 32-7.

House Club A held on to second place with a draw at home to Oracle B. Tony Nichols won the first two frames for the home side with a 49-36, 35-22 win against Ryan Darlington, despite Darlington making a break of 22 in the first frame. Kevin Higgs recorded Oracle’s first point when he beat Brian Field 47- 32 in the third frame, while a break of 27 helped Higgs win the fourth frame 58-8. Sam Nichols won the fifth frame 62-35 to restore House Club’s lead, but it was short lived and Peter England took the final frame 41-16 to tie the match.
