After last week’s maximum win,
Eynsham A came back down to earth with defeat at
Riley D.
Greg Moyses took the first frame 54-40 to give
Riley’s the lead but
Eynsham were level thanks to
Richard Partlett who made a break of 40 to secure the second frame 78-6.
Andy Toole and
Kevin Truby then played out two close frames, with Toole winning both on the black.
Bob Thiele took the fifth frame 49-13 to make it 3-2 but he could not make his advantage stick and
Wayne Reddy claimed the last frame 59-30.
Abingdon Con B bounced back from their defeat at Eynsham to record a 5-1 win against local rivals Oracle A. Derek Hall top scored with a break of 40 during his 60-22, 77-8 demolition of Matty Bramall. Richard Saunders faired little better, going down 49-16, 64-39 to Peter Baskerville. Oracle’s only point came from Jamie Saczak who beat former Oracle player Stuart Fenwick 58-10 in the fifth frame, with Saczak making a 31 break. Fenwick, then won the last frame 50-36.
