A draw with Thame B was enough to ensure that Cowley Con A stay top of Division Three. Dick Hashman and Dave White shared the opening frames 60-29, 29-49 before Keith Pearce edged out Derek Syrett 51-48, 67-66 to put the home side 3-1 ahead. Once again it was Nigel Bossom who came to the rescue for Thame thanks to his 53-14, 62-14 success against Arthur Coakley. Bossom has now won all six of his frames this season.

Morris Motors B move up a place to second after a draw with Cowley Con B. Chick Wheatley beat Ian Dibley 62-37, 61-53 to give Cowley a 2-0 lead. Jim Smart Jnr then beat Eric Pratt 64-36 to make it 3-0. Pratt came back to win the fourth frame 52-24 before Paul Smith beat Mark Bayliss 52-21, 47-16 to complete Morris’s comeback.

House Club B picked up their first win of the campaign with a 4-2 win at home to Morris Motors A. Peter Butterfield won the opening frame 68-48 only for Doug Baker to win the second 54-12. Des Truss took the third frame 52-31 to put Morris’s ahead, but Keith Philpott replied 57-37 in the fourth to level the match once again. Mike Augar steered House Club to victory when he beat Tony Baker 55-22, 71-22.
