Witney D have taken over the leadership in Division Two following a draw at home to Abingdon Con B. Julian Marks beat Lynn Dick 65-24 in the opening frame to put Witney ahead, but Dick responded to win the second 61-41. Stuart Fenwick then beat Clive Burnett 62-38, 52-22 to give Abingdon a 3-1 lead, but Peter Baskerville was unable to build on this and Phil Smith took the remaining frames 51-27, 44-21 to ensure that Witney remain unbeaten this season.

Riley D move into third place following a 4-2 win against former leaders County B, who slip to second. Robert Adkins (Riley) was in mean mood and saw off Paul Paddick (County) 41-7, 51-14. Greg Moyses took the next frame 57-31 to make it 3-0 before Nick Anderson replied 47-30 to get County on the scorecard. Kevin Hicks then brought things back to 3-2 when he beat Wayne Reddy 53-20 in the fifth frame, but Reddy had the final word by winning the last frame 50-36.

In the ‘basement battle’, Abingdon Con A came from 2-0 down to beat Eynsham A 4-2, but the win still leaves Abingdon 1 point adrift of their opponents. Eynsham went ahead through Lawrence Parsons who beat Kevin Broughton 58-39, 52-15, but from then on Abingdon took control. Fred Brett beat Bob Thiele 63-27, 57-35 while John Dawson beat Kevin Truby 54-29, 58-46 to complete Abingdon’s comeback.
