Premier Division Leaders,
Fieldside A lost their unbeaten record to a rejuvenated
Riley A team, but the match was not without controversy.
Tony Hicks made a break of 32 in the first frame to begin
Riley's account. Hick's break was then upstaged by
Paul Robinson who made 44 en route to winning frame two.
Gary Cowlin then put
Riley's 3-1 ahead with a 58-41, 67-21 win against
Bob Chivers who complained that the cue ball felt 'lighter' than it should. Investigation found that the ball was fractionally smaller than the other inthe set. Regrettable no suitable alternative could be found.
Karl Walker and
Ron Reddy agreed to continue with the same cue ball. Walker took frame 5 before Reddy came back to win the final frame and with it, the
match.
