Jaz Thapar made it 3-0 with a 78-36 win against Chick Wheatley, before Wheatley took the fourth frame 67-48 to reduce the arrears. Jim Smart Jnr took the fifth frame 53-48 to make it 3-2, but he was powerless to stop David Lo from winning the final frame 66-13.
