Season Competition Rules
Billiards 2004/5 <H3>Billiards - team Cup Competitions</H3> <em>Without exception</em>, all league teams are entered into two team competitions with preliminary and first round losers of either or both competitions being entered into a plate competition. <H4>Atox Cup</H4> The winner in all rounds is the team securing four or more points from an available points total of seven. <br> Each of three players will play one opposing team player over two games of 75 points up in each game.<br> One point is to be awarded for each game won and one point to the team with the greater aggregate score over the six games.<p> Handicaps:<br> <table border=1> <tr><th>Section One Players</th><td>Scratch</td></tr> <tr><th>Section Two Players</th><td>+20</td></tr> <tr><th>Section Three Players</th><td>+20</td></tr> </table> <br> For the purposes of clause 9.d) one game shall be deemed to be both 75 points up games between two opposing players. Half games may be claimed as for frames of snooker. A claimed half game will be counted as a 25 to 0 win for the purposes of aggregation. <H4>Stephen Reiss Cup</H4> The winner in all rounds is the team securing three or more points from an available points total of five.<br> Each of three players will play one opposing player over one game to a points total equal to that which would be the case if the two players were competing in a league match.<br> One point is to be awarded for each game won and two points to the team with the greater aggregate score over the three games. <br> Handicaps will be as last issued for league play.<br> For the purposes of clause 9.d) a claimed game will be counted as a 50 to 0 win. <H4>Hashman Shield</H4> This is a plate competition for all first round losers in the Atox and Stephen Reiss cups. The winners are awarded the Hashman Shield.<br> The winner in all rounds is the team securing two or more points from an available total of three.<br> Each of three players will play one opposing player to 150 points up over one game.<br> The point is to be awarded for each game won.<br> Handicaps:<br> <table border=1> <tr><th>Section One Players</th><td>Scratch</td></tr> <tr><th>Section Two Players</th><td>+40</td></tr> <tr><th>Section Three Players</th><td>+60</td></tr> </table> <H3>Billiards - Individual Competitions</H3> <H4>Oxford Times Cup</H4> Open to all registered players.<br> The winner in all rounds is the first player to reach 500 points over one game.<br> All players will be off scratch with some players seeded as decided by the Management Committee.<br> <H4>Arthur Cook Memorial Cup</H4> Open to all registered players.<br> The winner in all rounds is the first player to reach 200 points over one game.<br> Handicaps will be as last issued for league play. <H4>Turner Cup</H4> Open to all registered players who have not previously won this competition or the Oxford Times Cup.<br> The winner in all rounds is the first player to reach 250 points over one game.<br> All players will be off scratch.
