Riley D moved up to scond place with a win at home to bottom placed Abingdon Con A. Fred Brett endured a torrid time against Greg Moyses who made a break of 36 and allowed Brett just 14 points over their two frames. A break of 31 helped Andy Toole win the next frame to put Riley’s 3-0 ahead, before Bill Cook won the fourth frame to get Abingdon on the board. Wayne Reddy won the fifth frame to ensure victory for Riley’s before John Dawson took the last frame for Abingdon. Abingdon Con B and Eynsham A drew, with all six players winning a point for their respective teams. Lynn Dick put Abingdon ahead before Richard Partlett brought Eynsham level. Lawrence Parsons then gave Eynsham the lead only for Gerry Clapton to level for Abingdon. Nick Paterson put Abingdon ahead for the second time in the match but he could not stop Bob Thiele from winning the final frame to claim a share of the spoils.
